wake /wāk/ 1. To emerge from a state of sleep. 2. To hold a vigil beside (someone who has died). Like the double entendre of its title, Wake is one part of a two-spirited project, a film and a play. The film is a day in the life glimpse of a theatre company at work. As we peer into their artistic process, we learn that their work is largely centered on one theme: grief. The film features text from “Antigone” by Sophocles and “Kissing The Floor” by Ellen McLaughlin, with music music by Rinde Eckert.
